MWC

Modular Water-Cooled Fluid Chillers

MWC Series chillers are water-cooled 10-ton modules; up to 5 units can be configured in a parallel arrangement to provide increased cooling capacity. The modules are available in two versions:

  • Single compressor version with hot gas bypass valve for tight temperature control
  • Dual compressor version for energy savings

The compact size allows each unit to fit comfortably through doorways, making installation possible in locations that would be inaccessible with a single, large chiller. Both the condenser and evaporator are stainless steel brazed plate heat exchangers, with a water (condensing) control valve available as an option. Single units can be equipped with an internal condenser pump and or evaporator pump as an option. Multiple units are managed by a master controller.

CWB FC

Integrated Free-cooling

CWB FC Series units consist of a standard refrigerated fluid chiller coupled with a free cooling option in a single, air-cooled package. As the ambient temperature falls below the desired fluid temperature, the free cooling circuit is engaged. Sometimes referred to as a “dry cooler”, free coolers use ambient temperatures to chill process fluids. Environments with ambient temperatures below the necessary cooled temperature can see a strong energy savings benefit to this type of machine. A microprocessor controller seamlessly adjusts the amount of free cooling (from 0% to 100%) depending on system settings. As the ambient temperature drops, then more of the process heat load can be absorbed in the free-cooler. When operating in 100% free-cooling mode, the only cost of cooling is for the fans, providing substantial energy savings. CWB FC Series models share many of the features and options of the CWB Series and are available in rated capacities to 70 tons.

CWB Chiller

FREE-COOLING MODES OF OPERATION

Summer Mode: Free-Cooling Off

    • When the ambient temperature exceeds the temperature of the returning water, the free-cooling coils are bypassed and the CWB FC operates like a traditional chiller.

Intermediate Mode: Free-Cooling & Chiller

    • When the ambient temperature is lower than the temperature of the returning water, water is precooled by the free-cooling coils; final cooling to the set point is achieved via the refrigeration circuit.

Winter Mode: 100% Free-Cooling

    • When the ambient temperature is several degrees below the desired outlet water temperature, 100% of the heat load can be absorbed by the free-cooing coils and the refrigeration system remains off.

  • Pressurization and leak testing of fluid circuit
  • Chiller performance and power consumption at full load
  • Proper operation of all controls, safety devices, and alarms
  • Electrical tests according to international standards (EN 60204)

QBS

QBS Series chillers are air-cooled, industrial units with cooling capacity up to ½ ton and are available in 115/1/60 or 230/1/60 power supply. The all non-ferrous fluid (water) circuit is corrosion resistant and includes a peripheral pump, insulated stainless steel tank (unpressurized), and copper evaporator immersed in the tank. Designed for indoor use, QBS Series chillers are constructed of powder-coated steel, compact in size, and with the optional wheel kit they are especially easy to move from one application to another. The standard electronic controller maintains the outlet fluid temperature, manages the operation of the fluid pump and refrigerant compressor, and displays alarm conditions.

ACW

ACW Series dry coolers use ambient air, rather than refrigeration, to cool the process water. These units are perfect for point-of-use applications requiring water temperatures no colder than the ambient. Owing to their compact size and optional wheel kit, ACW Series coolers are extremely portable. Maximum cooling capacity is 2 tons, depending on operating conditions. The water circuit, including the tank and pump, is constructed of non-ferrous components for corrosion resistance. Models are available in 115/1/60 or 230/1/60 power supply. A disconnect switch is standard on all units with an electronic thermostat offered as an option. ACW Series coolers have a powder-coated steel cabinet and are designed for indoor, industrial applications.
